Everything you need to know about The Writer’s Room.
There are 6942 Writer's Room NFTs and no more will ever be made.
There are four tiers of Writer’s Room NFTs. A Valet Ticket, Yacht Keys, a Valet Stand, and a WAGMI Yacht. Each comes with different perks that build upon the tier that comes before it. There is more information on each tier on the “How it works” page of our website.
Yes, minting Writer’s Room NFTs was blind and completely random. All Writer’s Room NFTS cost the same price to mint (0.069420 ETH). Writer’s Room NFTS are now sold out and you can purchase them on Opensea and Nifty Gateway.
Each tier of the Writer’s Room NFT comes with different voting power for all of the content we create in the Writer’s Room as well as a different level of acknowledgment and character involvement in the final book. Every member of the Writer’s Room can license approved avatars to our works.
Members of the Writer's Room will also be able to claim a free Book 1 NFT for every Writer's Room NFT they hold. The Book 1 NFT will have burn/hold game theory that triggers our Roadmap 2.0 and brings you deeper into the Tally Labs universe.
Tier 1: Yacht
Tier 2: Valet Stand
Tier 3: Yacht Keys
Tier 4: Valet Ticket
No - licensing has closed for Book 1. However, stay tuned for future opportunities coming very soon.
The scope of your ape or mutant’s role in Book 1 and beyond is based on the Writer's Room NFT that you have, but the financial incentive is the same for all licensing agreements, regardless of tier. We will adhere to the hierarchy of these tiers in future works, however the way that they come to life will change as the form of media changes.
Yes, the licensing agreement that you sign as the holder of the ape/mutant grants payment to the wallet that the ape/mutant is in. We use the Ethereum blockchain to track the wallets that hold the apes/mutants we have licensing agreements with to pay those wallets when we make disbursements.
Members are able to license one eligible avatar per work for each Writer’s Room NFT that they own. If you have two eligible avatars and would like to license them both to a given work, you need two Writer’s Room NFTs. Licensing an avatar to a work does not prevent you from using that Writer’s Room NFT to license again when a new work arises.
Yes, if you sell a Writer's Room NFT on the secondary market before signing a licensing agreement for an ape or mutant, the new holder can sign a licensing agreement for one of their apes/mutants. This may make your Writer's Room NFT more valuable - similar to someone who was selling a BAYC ape with an unclaimed BAKC dog.
If you are considering purchasing a Writer’s Room NFT on the secondary market after the licensing window has opened, you may use our “check license” tool on the website to see if it has already been used to license an Ape/Mutant.
You need to hold the commercial rights to an eligible avatar in order to license those commercial rights to the Writer’s Room so that we can use your ape or mutant in a piece of work. There are two ways to hold the commercial rights to an avatar. The first way is to literally hold the eligible avatar in your wallet. The second way is to sign a licensing agreement with a holder of an eligible avatar in order to use their commercial rights.
We will be publishing a free use licensing agreement that anyone can use to make partnerships with eligible avatar holders. You don’t have to use our free use agreement, but we realize it may be helpful for some holders who don’t own eligible avatars to gain the rights to other eligible avatars. When it comes time to make disbursements, we will make them in accordance to the terms you and your partner input into the signed agreement.
The next opportunities will be the Jenkins Audio Experience with Salt Audio and [Redacted]. Similar to the book licensing period, we will give plenty of advanced notice. You’ll also find that our new licensing portal is much more intuitive and efficient.
OF COURSE! We started our business by growing a character from scratch and now we are honored to help provide opportunities for others’ avatars. It’s especially cool when they are avatars we dreamt up. However, if the content is unrelated to Azurbala, then Azurians may not be eligible. Every project will have a set of avatars that can be licensed to it.
10x NYT Bestseller Neil Strauss wrote the novel. He used the votes that came out of the Writer’s Room to craft the world and the plot.
Writer’s Room members voted on a serious of world-building and plot defining questions. All in all, there were over 30 voting outputs that Neil used in his writing.
In the future, you will be able to use the portal to vote on creative direction for future projects. However, we are working on rolling out other engaging, community-based use cases for the platform in between large works. We want the portal to be a place where creativity is continuously emerging. You will also be able to vote on the communities we partner with for the Jenkins Audio Experience.
You can submit proposals and the Jenkins creative team will bring ones most commonly suggested to the whole voting community.
The output of our collective work is an entirely community-generative novel featuring 4,075 Bored Apes and Mutant Apes. The plot was voted on by the community and the final work was written by a 10x NYT Bestselling Author.
There are some incredible collaborators also working on this book. MBSJQ (top 20 grossing SuperRare artist) designed the book cover and the entire book NFT. Murda Beatz (Grammy-nominated producer) produced a custom track for the book NFT. IC4 Design (world-famous design firm based in Hiroshima, JP) created the “Where’s Jenkins” search & find, and Loor Nicolas (awesome artist from Barcelona) completed all of the illustrations.
Yes, you get paid a profit share for all primary and secondary sales of the completed book NFT that we will sell to the general public. 50% of all Net Profits are paid out to licensors, paid either quarterly or biannually. There are a number of off-chain USD expenses that the company incurred (and will continue to incur) that need to be reconciled in order to determine Net Profits.
Well…first and foremost, you can read it! We have created a custom Web3 reader experience gated only to book holders. You’ll be able to login with the wallet holding the book and experience the work in a fun and interactive way.
Additionally, you will be able to burn that book for the ability to mint an Azur Root, which is our version of a Mint Pass and is a sacred item to Azurian society. This will allow you to claim your Azurian.
On the other side of the game theory, you will be able to stake your book for tokens in Hawthorn, a DAO dedicated to reimagining collective creativity. Tally Labs will be eager contributors to this DAO.
No! These are the only ones. In fact, as books get burned, you can expect the supply to deflate. We are working with our agents at CAA to give this book the best chance to live in other forms, but that will not affect the supply of this collection.
Yes! The physical claims period will open up after the book burning period has ended. Those who opted to stake or hold their book will be eligible to claim a physical. Those who opted to burn their book will not be eligible to claim a physical. Let the decisions begin.
We are working with CAA across books, film, TV, podcasts, and more. They represent Jenkins the Valet and everything our community creates in the Writer’s Room. CAA helps us scale Jenkins’ content and build our voice as the storytellers of the Metaverse.
The premise of the Writer’s Room is that our authentic, crypto-native community will pair with elite Hollywood creatives to create the lore that will come to define the Metaverse. There will be much, much more content (in many forms)! Hold onto that Writer’s Room NFT - it’s a genesis :)
Absolutely. For one, we can promise you there will be content to license your Azurians with. Outside of that, the first opportunity will be with the Jenkins Audio Experience. We are in advanced talks with a number of other NFT communities for the podcast and beyond. For us, making sure their holder rights meet our standards is top priority.
Nope. The 6942 Writer’s Room NFTs are the only ones that will ever be sold. Writer’s Room NFTS are now sold out and you can purchase them on Opensea and Nifty Gateway.
Azurbala is the jungle capital all the way on the other side of the metaverse. We’re going to travel there together. It’s a dangerous place so we recommend you keep your wits about you.
This is a world we’ve been building for 7 months in partnership with Emma Needell, an incredible world builder, screenwriter, director, and our Head of Story. You will be able to obtain an Azurian by going down the path of burning your Bored & Dangerous NFT.
We don’t know! The amount of avatars in existence will be entirely dependent upon how many people burn their book and mint an Azur Root (mint pass). We know for sure the number will not exceed 20,000 but we imagine it will be much lower.
At our core, we’re storytellers! We have spent the last year building Jenkins the Valet into the most recognized individual NFT avatar. We have an amazing grasp of storytelling at the character level.
We believe launching a PFP collection allows us to level up our storytelling to the universe level, bring in new members to our community, and build a generational franchise. We have poured our hearts into the art storytelling, leaving lore to be enjoyed around every corner. We will not stop until Azurbala is a household name.
Check out Azurbala.com - we have built an incredible, immersive site for you to experience Azurbala.
It’s a partnership between Tally Labs and SALT Audio to create a first of its kind audio series featuring your favorite NFT communities. Something has happened that will take Jenkins on a journey throughout the Metaverse to meet communities and characters owned by YOU.
SALT Audio is an award-winning Audio production company responsible for some of the biggest fiction podcasts in the space. We are their first web3 project and they couldn’t be more excited. They’ve worked with Rami Malek, Pete Davidson, Kevin Bacon, Dave Chapelle, and more.
You’ll be able to listen to most of the podcast wherever you get your podcasts (it will be everywhere). We have a trick up our sleeve to foster a deeper level of interaction for those who want it, and we’re building something custom for it.
It combines the ubiquitous distribution of web2 with the gated interactions of web3. There will be a way for you to play along with the story in a way that hasn’t been done before. Much like everything we do, holders will have an active voice!
